Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte announces 2012 staff promotions

Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte CPAs, P.C. (TBC) is pleased to announce the promotion of two audit managers, two audit supervisors and five senior accountants. Robert H. Kind, Managing Partner and Shareholder, made the announcement.

Vincent Commisso, CPA and Paula Pierce, CPA, have both been promoted from their prior positions of Audit Supervisors to Audit Managers. Commisso, a member of the firm since 2007, is a participant in the 2012-2013 Tech Valley Leadership through the Albany-Colonie Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Schenectady County. Pierce, who has been with TBC since 2005, is an active member of the firm’s Education Committee and oversees continued education training. Both are members of the firm’s internal Accounting & Auditing Committee. Commisso and Pierce also both perform audits for the firm’s various commercial clients in a wide range of industries and, in their new positions, will manage audits of not-for-profit organizations.

The firm also promoted Gregory Galla, CPA and Ryan McEvoy, CPA, both previously employed as Senior Accountants, to Audit Supervisors. Galla, a member of the Capital Region Home Builders and Remodelers Future Leaders Council, specializes in audits of construction clientele as well as other commercial entities. Galla came to TBC in 2006 from a public accounting firm. McEvoy, who came to the firm in 2009 from another public accounting firm, is on the firm’s internal Manufacturing Committee. Both will supervise commercial and not-for-profit audits in their new roles.

Among the staff accountants promoted to senior accountants are Denise Lurenz, CPA, Kyleen Cain, Katherine Goodwin, Megan O’Malley and Nathan Pannucci. Goodwin started with TBC in 2008 while Cain and Lurenz began their accounting careers at TBC in 2009. O’Malley and Pannucci joined the firm in 2010.

“As TBC continues to grow and thrive, we are excited to watch these professionals rise up the ranks and take on new responsibilities. Our clients rely on the continuity we provide them with so that they can build trusted relationships with all levels of our staff. Furthermore, we recognize that each of these associates has improved their technical abilities, while also serving on internal committees, engaging in activities with outside associations and working with community organizations to deepen their relationships with other professionals and ultimately, hone their interpersonal skills to emerge as future leaders,” Kind said.

“With more than 75 full time associates and over 40 CPAs on staff, we are able to provide quality accounting and auditing services and still maintain a personal and responsive relationship with our clients,”  Kind continued. “The firm has grown tremendously in the last 41 years and we are able to serve clients right here in the Capital Region, throughout New York and beyond through our association with CPAmerica International.”

TBC offers accounting and auditing, personal and corporate tax, trusts and estates, business advisory, valuation and pension services for a diversified clientele. TBC serves five primary markets: commercial businesses, governmental, employee benefit plans, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals. Commercial clientele includes construction contractors, distributors, manufacturers, professional service firms, real estate developers, retailers, technology companies and wholesalers among other businesses.
