Staff Accountant

Position Responsibilities

  • Performing fieldwork/audit processes and clearly documenting work performed
  • Preparing workpapers for audit, review and compilation engagements to ensure compliance with appropriate standards
  • Preparing financial statements for clients in various industries
  • Preparing tax forms for individuals and businesses in various industries
  • Developing basic knowledge of accounting and auditing theory as well as federal and state taxes
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

To qualify for this role you must have:

  • A Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation, or a related degree that provides eligibility to sit for the CPA examination in NYS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
  • Expertise in organization and time management; ability to adhere to time budgets
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
