Senior Accountant

Position Responsibilities

  • Performing fieldwork/audit processes and clearly documenting work performed
  • Preparing and reviewing workpapers for audit, review and compilation engagements to ensure compliance with appropriate standards
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements for clients in various industries
  • Preparing tax forms for clients in various industries
  • Developing knowledge of accounting and auditing theory as well as federal and state taxes
  • Building relationships with clients and maintaining professionalism throughout client interactions
  • Coaching and developing staff members and interns
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

To qualify for this role you must have:

  • A Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation, or a related degree that provides eligibility to sit for the CPA examination in NYS
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of related work experience
  • Active progress towards or plans to obtain CPA certification in NYS
  • A background in auditing and/or financial accounting, and an understanding of US GAAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
  • Expertise in organization and time management; ability to adhere to time budgets
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; experience using ProSystems Engagement is preferred but not required
