Position Responsibilities
- Performing fieldwork/audit processes and clearly documenting work performed
- Preparing and reviewing workpapers for audit, review and compilation engagements to ensure compliance with appropriate standards
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements for clients in various industries
- Preparing tax forms for clients in various industries
- Developing knowledge of accounting and auditing theory as well as federal and state taxes
- Building relationships with clients and maintaining professionalism throughout client interactions
- Coaching and developing staff members and interns
- Other responsibilities as assigned
To qualify for this role you must have:
- A Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation, or a related degree that provides eligibility to sit for the CPA examination in NYS
- Approximately 3 to 5 years of related work experience
- Active progress towards or plans to obtain CPA certification in NYS
- A background in auditing and/or financial accounting, and an understanding of US GAAP
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Expertise in organization and time management; ability to adhere to time budgets
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; experience using ProSystems Engagement is preferred but not required
