On Friday, February 7, 2014 many of the Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte, CPAs, P.C. (TBC) associates showed their support for the American Heart Association (AHA) Go Red for Women Day through wearing red clothing and making donations to AHA.  Funds raised nationwide through the Go Red Day help support the life-saving programs and research of the AHA.

“As a firm, we are happy to join together not only to raise much needed funds for this cause, but more important, to raise awareness of these significant issues,” said Managing Partner James W. Drislane.

During the weeks leading up to the national movement day, members of the Firm’s staff posted messages throughout the office and sent email messages to the employees to communicate the risk factors for heart disease. Other messages included tips on how to be more active and improve heart health.  In addition to participants wearing red, many donated to the AHA and wore the red dress pin, a symbol of their support of the movement.

“It’s hard to believe that TBC has been participating in this event since 2007,” said Gail Watson, the administrative manager at TBC. “I participate and help encourage others to get involved because I think it’s important to help raise awareness and funds to fight cardiovascular disease, the number one killer of women.”
