TBC named #1 CPA Firm in the Capital Region by the Albany Business Review

The Albany Business Review has named Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte, CPAs, P.C. (TBC) as the area’s largest CPA firm, according to a list that ranks CPA firms based on the number of Certified Public Accountants employed in their Capital Region office. The list was published on Friday, February 12, 2016.

TBC was tied for first place three years ago and was in second place for the past two years while steadily employing 48 CPAs. This year, as a result of key staff hires and an increased number of staff accountants passing the exam to become certified, TBC moved into first place with 51 CPAs.  In addition, TBC is ranked #233 in the Top 300 Firms list – a national ranking of public accounting firms based on net revenue published by Inside Public Accounting.

The Firm, currently in its 45th anniversary year, was founded in 1971.  TBC services business clients, not-for-profit organizations, government entities, employee benefit plans, and individuals in several different areas. These areas include accounting, auditing, tax, and advisory services such as trust and estate administration, pension plan administration, valuation and litigation services, and forensic accounting, among others.

“I am proud that our shareholders have stuck to our roots of being an Albany based firm which has grown with the local economy,” said TBC Managing Partner James Drislane. “Our success has been achieved through not only the organic growth of our existing clients, but through local acquisitions. We continue to look for and evaluate merger opportunities.”

While TBC’s local presence and client focus on area businesses is at the foundation of the Firm’s service philosophy, TBC has worked with clients outside of the Capital Region area for many years.

“When clients expand nationally or even internationally, our local office serves them,” Drislane commented. “The consistency of having our staff of CPAs on hand over the last few years provides us the capability of handling all of our existing client needs while expanding our current services and attracting new clients,” said Drislane.

He added that the Firm is a member of CPAmerica International, an association comprised of approximately 75 medium sized CPA firms throughout the country whose motto is “knowledge through sharing.”

The public accounting firms recognized in the Albany Business Review’s complete list were those with offices in Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington counties. To read the full list, click here.
