On and off air, TBC stands by the Food Pantries of the Capital District

wamcThroughout the 46 years that TBC has been in business, it has had the good fortune to work with countless outstanding community organizations, associations, causes and leaders. Earlier this fall we signed on as the Champion Partner for the 6th Annual Harvest Evening Celebration, a premier event held at Revolution Hall on Thursday, October 5th. The Harvest Evening Celebration benefits The Food Pantries of the Capital District, an organization which is a coalition of 61 food pantries in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties working together to feed the hungry. Their overall mission is to address hunger in the capital district through our member food pantries. As the Champion Partner along with Pioneer Bank, TBC will be supporting an organization that makes a difference in the lives of the 78,000 people in our area who are food insecure. This number includes 24,000 people who are babies and children. Recently, our shareholder Katie Doran was invited to speak about TBC’s passion for supporting this cause on air with Joe Donahue on WAMC radio. Joining Katie was the Organization’s executive Director, Natasha Pernicka, Kizzy Williams, chef and owner of Allie B’s Cozy Kitchen, and Ruth Kassel from Siena College’s community engagement office. Check out the link to hear these ladies discuss how food insecurity needs are being met thanks to individual donations and corporate philanthropy from businesses like TBC.
