Director of Business Advisory Services

Steve is a Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) Accredited by the Institute of Business Appraisers and accredited in Business Appraisal Review (ABAR) by the Institute of Business Appraisers; he is also a Certified Merger &  Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) designated by the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors. Steve has over 25 years of diversified financial leadership and management experience and has performed over 200 appraisals.

In addition to financial planning and valuation related assignments, his other specialties include mergers and acquisitions, operations analysis, as well as comprehensive product line profitability analysis including standard cost development. He has led cross-functional teams from various disciplines including systems, risk management, operations, sales and marketing. His skills were primarily developed through various leadership, management and analytical assignments at General Electric, including serving as the Finance Director for GE Capital’s United Kingdom automobile financing business. In addition, he has been the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director of two Capital District based mid-market professional services firms. Steve was also one of five Managing Director/Owners of an Investment Banking and Business Consulting firm located in Latham, NY.

A highest honors graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1982 and was an honors graduate of General Electric’s Financial Management Program in 1984. He earned a Masters of Management from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1991 and is a 2002 graduate of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Capital Leadership Program.

His other activities include being on the board of Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar, as well as on the Advisory Board of The Stakeholders.  In addition, he has been a guest lecturer at SUNY Albany, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and The Graduate College of Union University. He is currently an instructor for the Institute of Business Appraisers, he was named an instructor of Exceptional Distinction in 2011.
