Tax Manager

Susan joined the firm in October 2008. She graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a Master of Science Degree in Accounting. Prior to joining TBC Susan was a shareholder responsible for all aspects of an accounting firm including accounting and auditing services, tax services, information technology and quality control. She also worked in the tax department of another accounting firm as well as for the NYS Comptrollers Office.

Her area of concentration is managing and supervising the firm’s accounting and auditing services, management advisory services and tax services for a large client base with a concentration in insurance administration. Other auditing and tax service industries include, employee benefit plans, real estate, and hospitality.

Susan is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Director of Business Advisory Services

Steve is a Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) Accredited by the Institute of Business Appraisers and has over 25 years of diversified financial leadership and management experience. He brings a practical hands-on approach to all of his work. In particular, when working with valuation and planning clients his past experience as a senior leader in companies provides the client with a unique perspective that they generally do not see from other service providers. He has worked on numerous valuation related assignments throughout his career.

In addition to financial planning and valuation related assignments, his specialties include mergers and acquisitions, operations analysis; and comprehensive product line profitability analysis including standard cost development. He has led cross-functional teams from various disciplines including systems, risk management, operations, sales and marketing. His skills were primarily developed through various leadership, management and analytical assignments at General Electric, including serving as the Finance Director for GE Capital’s United Kingdom automobile financing business. In addition he has been the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director of two Capital District based mid-market professional services firms. Steve was also one of five Managing Director/Owners of an Investment Banking and Business Consulting firm located in Latham, NY.

Steve is a 1982 highest honors graduate of Northeastern University in Boston where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In 1984, he was an honors graduate of General Electric’s Financial Management Program. He also earned a Masters of Management from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and is a 2002 graduate of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Capital Leadership Program.

His other activities include being on the board of Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar, as well as on the Advisory Board of The Stakeholders.  In addition, he has been a guest lecturer at SUNY Albany and The Graduate College of Union University and is currently an instructor for the Institute of Business Appraisers.  Steve is available to speak on a variety of advisory related topics.  He has also spent many years as a youth group advisor, coaching youth sports and is a certified US Soccer Federation referee.

Steve joined the firm in September 2000. Prior to joining the firm, Steve worked for nine years in the tax department of an international accounting firm. He specialized in manufacturing, retail and distribution, and real estate clients that operated under the corporate or partnership form. Maureen joined the firm in 1992. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from New York University. After joining the firm over 20 years ago, he soon became directly accountable for managing the firm’s tax department. A former teacher, Kevin excels in imparting his technical knowledge to both clients and the staff.
